I was wondering how a KeyGen works...

some 1 has to dissasemble the app and go thru the hex codes to find the serial that works, they will then study how the app generates its valid serial then make their own. once they have there own serials they give them to a programmer that then makes an app to hold them such as a keygen-keygenorator...

Could you explain how a patch works?? i mean, when you patch an .exe file of a program....tnx

your name makes me sick. but usually, i think, it just adds a working serial and stops the app connecting to the net. or, stops it connecting to the key checker file and lies sayings the key 0000000000000 or whatever works.

not exactly, a patch is basicly a cracked exe thats replacing the original exe file, BUT some patches do more like u say- stop the app from accessing the network database that holds the valid serials
